Omega Unveil Innovative New Watch

The Omega Watch Company was founded in 1848 by Louis Brandt in La Choux de Fonds, Switzerland. The first watches manufactured by Omega were simple pocket watches, as was the fashion at the time.

Omega watches began to take the form that we are now all familiar with in 1894, when some of their now iconic design features were first introduced. It was not long after that Omega timepieces began to be used by the military, especially by pilots due to the brands’ exceptional functionality.

Furthermore, it was an Omega Speedmaster that was the first watch on the moon, worn by Buzz Aldrin as he took the first steps onto the lunar surface. Alongside this Omega watches have recently become the favourite watch of James Bond in his movies, with Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig both sporting them. As well as fictional characters, Omega is loved by celebrities such as George Clooney, Michael Schumacher and most recently, Cindy Crawford. Crawford promoted the new, redesigned Constellation at an event in Shanghai on March 4th 2011. The popularity of Omega among some of the worlds’ biggest names is a testament to the quality and excellence.

The new Omega Constellation has received several new design features from previous models. While still maintaining the classic elegance and style accustomed to the series, whilst bringing a more contemporary look to the watch. The Constellation remains one of the most instantly recognizable watch lines in the world due to its striking design with the “griffes” or claws at either side, just as they were when the original Constellation was released in 1982.

Omega is certain to continue innovating in the future, while still maintaining the same style and form that they are renowned for.
