Chopard Celebrate Classic Cars

The Mille Miglia (meaning ‘thousand miles’ in Italian) is a watch that is deep rooted in the long and rich history of the sport of motor racing. It takes its name from one of the very first automobile endurance races, a challenging competition started in Italy in 1927.

After ending in 1957 the competition was brought back 20 years later as an annual parade of the magnificent cars that participated in order to celebrate the engineering prowess of these vintage machines. It is because of this celebration of classic engineering that Chopard Watches came to be the official time keeper of the Mille Miglia Storica.

The Chopard Millie Miglia represents a slightly different aesthetic direction for the famous brand in comparison to other Chopard watches. But as always, with a wide number of models crafted skilfully and made from the finest materials for reliability and performance, this is a very functional watch that also looks great as a fashion accessory for men.

This watch incorporates many subtle nods to the history of the race into its design; the red arrow markers that map out the race route on the track make an appearance in every model of the Chopard Mille Miglia as a distinctive red second hand. The watch features Chopard’s famous porthole strap, but it is also available with a 60s style Dunlop tyre tread strap that complements the racing theme nicely.

The back of the case is one of this watches most unique features.  Half of the back is transparent allowing the owner to observe the intricate Swiss ETA 7750 automatic chronograph movement that it holds. Plus, the back of the case features the emblem of the Automobile Club de Monaco for all the racing fans that enjoy this watch and would like to carry a subtle tribute to the racing tradition imprinted on the back of this special timepiece.
