Bremont HMS Victory Launch

This week marks the launch of the long anticipated HMS Victory watch from Bremont, taking place onboard the very ship it is commemorating. Going down to the event in Portsmouth on Thursday July the 12th are Bob Breden, the General Manager at Banks Lyon and four lucky customers, who will get the opportunity to see the watch prototype in person.

Banks Lyon will be the first jewellers in the world to have the prototype on view for customers and there is already a substantial list of people wanting to view the watch. If you want to view the watch or any of the other pieces in stock at Banks Lyon, get in touch over the phone or through our personal shopper function.

The HMS Victory watch has been getting lots of attention since it was first announced at Baselworld earlier this year. Watch enthusiasts have been unanimous on their praise for the styling, construction and attention to detail in the watch. As with all Bremont watches, the Victory watch is sure to be a excellently crafted time piece, and being in limited numbers is sure to be very collectable for years to come.

When the watch becomes available (later this year, around October/November) there will be two versions made, one in Rose Gold (limited to 40 pieces) and one in Stainless Steel (limited to 250 pieces). The front of the watch is elegant and understated in a classic English style design, but still incredibly attractive. When you turn the watch over and look at the caseback you can see what really makes the watch special. Through the sapphire crystal case back you can see the inner workings of the watch. The movement of the watch has original oak and coopers nail from the 18th century ship. As the HMS Victory is arguably most famous for being Lord Nelson’s flag ship at the battle of Trafalgar in 1805, the back of the watch has his last words “Thank god I have done my duty” engraved around the edge.

The back of the watch really is something special.

The prototype watch will be in store to view from Friday the 13th of July, the day after the launch in Portsmouth, and as Banks Lyon are the first in the world to have the prototype, it is sure to create a lot of excitement.
