Bremont Celebrate a Historic Aircraft

A true piece of aviation history, the Bremont Mustang P-51 contains parts from the iconic 1944 Mustang WWII aircraft P-51K-10, a Pacific war veteran also endearingly known as ‘Fragile but Agile’. It not only integrates aluminium fuselage from one of the original aircraft, but also includes some new technology from Bremont that perfectly compliments the historical and aesthetic elements of the timepiece.

The unique case back for the Bremont Mustang P-51 complete with rotating propeller.

The parts from the aircraft are used in the subsidiary seconds sub-dial at 12 o’clock and aluminium rotor in the movement, of which is visible through the case back, demonstrating a true pairing between aesthetics and mechanics. The movement itself is a modified Calibre 13 ¼” BE-54AE automatic chronometer, ensuring precision and a good power reserve of 42 hours.

The Bremont Mustang P-51 really comes into its own with regards to aesthetics, with an attractive dial featuring a miniature propeller at the 9 o’clock marker, and a striking, white and red striped second hand. It also features a date function at 4 o’clock, a chronograph with seconds and 30 minutes, and a 24 hour UTC hand, proving the timepiece to be as useful as it is easy on the eye. The case features the new hardened stainless steel construction Bremont Trip Tick®, giving the watch extra durability, and also features the new Bremont Roto-Click® technology infused into the internally rotating bezel.

The Bremond Mustang P-51 is due to be unveiled at Basel 2011, and is sure to strike a chord among aviation history aficionados and timepiece enthusiasts alike with its remarkable construction and stunning appearance.
