TAG Heuer Formula 1 Solargraph Collection: Latest Race-Inspired Models

By Maxine

The TAG Heuer Formula 1 is one of the brand’s most iconic watches, and at this year’s Watches and Wonders event, TAG Heuer unveiled its latest line of Formula 1 Solargraphs. As the name suggests, these models are powered by modern solar technology, something I believe not only breathes fresh life into the collection but also adds a technical edge that enthusiasts will really appreciate.

In this article, I’ll take you through everything you need to know about TAG Heuer’s new Formula 1 Solargraph range: from release dates and core specifications to the exciting race-inspired special editions. And if any of these pieces catch your eye, don’t forget that here at Banks Lyon we offer TAG Heuer watches on finance, making it easier to spread the cost over several months.

Core Solargraph Models

TAG Heuer is now the official Formula 1 timekeeper, and earlier this year, they unveiled a new 38mm twist on the classic 1980s racing design. The first models launched in early 2025, and new colourways are rolling out throughout the F1 season. Before we explore the models releasing alongside the F1 calendar, here are the core models in regular production:

White Dial, Steel Bracelet: Featuring a white dial framed by a black turning bezel and a red inner ring. Its 38mm stainless steel case and matching bracelet make the watch comfortably stylish and it is powered by TAG Heuer’s TH50-00 solar quartz movement, meaning it charges from any light. In fact, just one minute of light exposure can power a full day, and the watch can hold up to 10 months of power when fully charged.

Blue Dial, Steel Bracelet: A vibrant blue dial and bezel, with white and subtle red highlights. The rhodium-plated hands and applied indexes are coated with Super-LumiNova, ensuring high legibility in any light. It shares the same 38mm steel cases and bezel as the white dial version, with the TH50-00 solar movement, offering a trendy design with innovative features.

Red Polylight Case, Rubber StrapA bold all-red model in TAG Heuer’s new TH-Polylight composite case, paired with a matching red rubber racing strap. It features a white dial with a red and black bezel, creating a bold, sporty look. The rubber strap makes it the perfect companion for those with an active lifestyle, whether you’re racing, running, or heading to the gym.

So far, the first two models (black and blue) are available for purchase at Banks Lyon, with the third red model expected later in 2025, timed with the Italian Grand Prix in September.

F1 Race-Inspired Editions (Limited Releases)

TAG Heuer is tying new Solargraph variants to each Grand Prix. If you’re a Formula 1 fan, this is the perfect opportunity to purchase a watch that aligns with your favourite race.

  • Silverstone (British GP): A stunning watch for a historic race, featuring a green-accented bezel and elegant stainless-steel bracelet.
  • Miami GP: A sleek black DLC-coated case with red highlights and a rubber strap.
  • Barcelona GP: A black case with Arabic numerals on a matte dial.
  • Mexico GP: A black DLC case with striking yellow detailing.

Each of these Grand Prix editions are being released on or just before the weekends. Be sure to check our website regularly to see when these special models arrive.

Key Features of the Solargraph Series

TAG Heuer has always been an innovator, and I think that’s especially true of the Formula 1 Solargraph range. Some of the highlights include:

Solar Powered Movement (TH50-00)

A hallmark feature of this watch is the solar-powered function, where just a minute of light exposure can power the watch for the full day. If you’re worried about the lack of natural light – don’t worry, this watch can charge in both sunlight and indoor light.

38mm Steel/Polylight Case

Slightly larger than the original 1980s F1 (35mm), the modern case is robust and ergonomic. Three models use TAG Heuer’s new TH-Polylight bio-composite for the case (two red variants and the blue model), offering bold colour in a lightweight material.

Vintage Racing Design

The styling of this watch revives the 1986 TAG Heuer Series 1, with colourful bezels, retro branding and bright flange rings. Applied hour indices (with Super-LumiNova®) ensure a sporty, legible look.

Sporty Durability

Each Solargraph is water-resistant to 100m, making them suitable for swimming. The choices of a stainless-steel bracelet or rubber racing strap ensure a secure, comfortable fit. Double-safety clasps and DLC-coated crowns contribute to the rugged, race-ready design.
