The Lockheed U-2 is a single engine, single-seated reconnaissance plane, used to gather intelligence at very high altitude, in all weathers. The plane is notoriously difficult to fly, giving the pilot very little margin for error. Originally developed in the 1950s, the plane is still flown today by the US Air Force’s 9th Reconnaissance Wing and has been indispensable in NATO operations.
The Bremont U-2 Limited Edition Watch is available to only 150 connoisseurs, who are bound to appreciate its superb performance and functionality. The watch has an automatic chronometer movement with a 38 hour power reserve. As with all Bremont watches it features an anti-magnetic Faraday cage and anti shock movement. The difference with this watch is the fact that it has been tested to an amazing 100,000 feet – ensuring faultless operation under the most extreme conditions.
Aside from the impressive construction and performance of the watch, the Bremont U-2 Limited Edition is a fine-looking time piece. The strap is made from black calf leather with a Bremont buckle. The simple black dial has luminous hour markers and a small day and date at the 3 o’clock position. The case is made from steel with a bi-directional rotating bezel housed safely beneath the domed sapphire, scratch resistant crystal.
