British watchmakers Bremont have certainly been making ripples this year, and we never get tired of sharing information about their latest spectacular releases. This month, it’s time to talk about the MKI and MKII watches, which have been created as part of Bremont’s ongoing relationship with Bremont.
Each watch is both an incredible timepiece in its own right (and we’ll look at their design and construction in more detail in just a moment), and a tribute to one of the most exciting of all of Jaguar’s vehicles: the E-Type.
Jaguar and Bremont have been collaborating on a range of mutually beneficial projects since 2010, with the relationship getting off to a fantastic start when Bremont designed an innovative analogue clock for the dashboard of the C-X75. Since then, the partnership between these two equally stylish brands has flowered, and Jaguar have called on Bremont to produce a number of other specialist clocks for their vehicles, while Bremont have also produced limited edition watches to coincide with the launch of some of Jaguar’s most impressive vehicles.
The MKI and MKII are the latest watches to join this exclusive club, and they certainly live up to the high reputations boasted by each brand. With deep blue straps which are simultaneously as sporty as the cars that they represent and fashionable enough to appeal to any man with a commitment to style.
If we look a little closer at the design, we can see how the vehicle which it represents has served as inspiration at every stage of the design process. This is perhaps the most striking in the case of the dial, which has been modelled after a RPM gauge, even including the eye-catching red quadrant –showing an attention to detail which is just one of the reasons Bremont have become so revered.
Elsewhere there are other more subtle but equally attractive references to the car, including a winding crown engraved with the pattern from the original Dunlop tyres, and an exposed winding rotor which takes the form of an E-type steering wheel.
Both the MKI and MKII watches are available from the Banks Lyon store, so regardless of which design you prefer you can wear your love for one of the most beautiful cars ever made on your sleeve this winter. The MKI is retailing at a cost of £8,450.00, or on a 36 month 0% finance plan at a rate of £187.78 per month, while the MKII can be purchased for £4,950.00, with a 36 month 0% finance rate of just £110.00 per month.
