The Baselworld entrance
For Football lovers its the UEFA Champions league final, for Tennis fans, Wimbledon. - For Watch Enthusiasts, the annual event of the year has arrived in the form of Baselworld 2011.
Hosted in Basel, Switzerland; Prestigious watch and jewellery brands from 45 different countries descend to unveil their latest concepts and creations to an estimated 100,000 members of the Watch & Jewellery trade who are looking for the first sightings on the very latest releases and trends.
Last years event saw the arrival of the new Rolex Sumbariner and the much sought after LiquidMetal Planet Ocean from Omega, both watches are still causing a buzz a year later, and are expected to carry on capturing imaginations for years to come, such is the calibre of Baselworld unveilings.
Some of this years speculation surrounds the sectretive project by Tag Heuer, currently code-named the "Apollo Project"; whispers speak of an innovative technique in manufacturing high-frequency chronograph watches.
