The Omega XXL Aqua Terra Small Seconds was released as a limited edition piece in June of 2010, taking the horology world by storm with its incredible case size of 49.2mm and stunning design. The face and dial were clearly inspired by the brand’s pocket timepieces from the 1930s, as the simple style and distinctive Arabic hour marker font have a particularly classic feel. The piece has recently been re-introduced in a different but no less impressive incarnation, with a more modern looking dial and design features.

Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra XXL Small Seconds
The latest Omega XXL Aqua Terra Small Seconds, like its predecessor, contains the manually-winded Omega 2211 movement and is an officially certified chronometer. The timepiece includes the classic Aqua Terra vertical Geneva waves on the dark grey dial that have made the line so popular, and add an element of interest to the simplistic design. The hour and unusual arrow shaped minute hands and the 18k gold faceted hour markers are coated with white Super-LumiNova for high visibility even in low light conditions.
One of the most distinctive features of the timepiece is the small seconds feature, after which it is named. Located at the 6 o’clock marker, the small seconds completes the look of the dial as well as adding extra precision to the watch. It also includes a transparent case back, allowing for visual enjoyment of the watch’s movement. Other features include an impressive 150m water resistance and a power reserve of 53 hours, and the timepiece is available in steel and red gold with a black alligator strap.
