Our regular readers may remember a blog last month about the Telsa Roadster, an electronic car sponsored by Tag Heuer that was coming towards the end of its round the world journey. Well, tonight the journey will finally be concluded when the car will arrive in Paris to a spectacular reception.
Along the journey the car has made history and has stopped in a number of major cities including Moscow where it was the first car without Russian components to be allowed to park in Red Square. It was driven to the Great Wall of China where the famous Chinese actor and star of the movie ‘Hero’ Chen Dao Ming took it for a ride. During the vehicle’s stop in London it was the focal point of Prince Charles’ garden part intended to promote environmental awareness and it was driven by Sit Stirling Moss.
The car has also made numerous appearances at Tag Heuer showrooms and licensed dealerships across the world where it was exhibited to the public along with a selection of historic and significant Tag Heuer watches.
However, the Tesla Roadster has done so much more than simply appear at a variety of exclusive locations across the globe. By accomplishing this journey it has been shown that electric cars, powered by renewable energy may actually be a viable mode of transport that could hopefully become common place in the future. The durability, performance and efficiency of the Tesla Roadster has been comparable to that of any other high performance sports car, so Tesla have really succeeded in showing the world what an electric car is capable of.
