Luxury car manufacturer Jaguar has unveiled its latest futuristic concept car and a fascinating collaboration with British precision watch brand, Bremont. The extraordinary partnership has seen Jaguar incorporate features from a Bremont watch line into the time-related aspects of the HMI (Human Machine Interface) within the new vehicle, while Bremont have designed a clock which sits in the car’s console.
Bremont watches were established to develop beautifully engineered and functional watches for the aviation industry. Each watch in the range has chronometer functionality and is made from the finest and most durable materials available including hardened steel, titanium and sapphire crystal. A limited number of watches are produced each year in Switzerland and tested to aviation standards.
The clock designed for the Jaguar C-X75 is not only integrated in terms of design, but actually uses the acceleration and braking forces of the vehicle to keep it wound. The clock is mounted in a turbine-inspired holder in the Jaguar’s centre console – another nod to the aviation background of the British watch brand.
The associations between Jaguar and Bremont do not end with this intelligent clock. Jaguar’s C-X75 is a four wheel drive electric supercar, with all of the sleek styling and engineering excellence one expects to find in one of the world’s premier car manufacturers. The car also features a Martin-Baker ejector seat produced by the iconic British aviation company. Bremont’s MBI watch is exclusively available to pilots who have ejected using the Martin-Baker seat and designed to withstand the Martin-Baker ejection test program.
