The fledgling British watch company, Bremont, have recently unveiled a truly unique watch. Bremont’s new EP120 Spitfire Watch is bound to be fascinating to anybody with an interest in aviation as the watches actually feature components made from parts taken from a world famous Spitfire Mk V fighter plane that shot down six German aircraft in one day during 1942.
This truly stunning watch gives you an opportunity to own a true piece of history. The aircraft, which had the call-sign EP120, has since been featured in movies such as ‘The Battle of Britain’ and ‘Pearl Harbour’. It now resides at Duxford in Cambridgeshire. When the aircraft was restored many of the original components were salvaged and eventually incorporated in the dials and movements of the Bremont EP120 watches.
The watch has also been designed to reflect the appearance of the instruments found in the cockpit of the EP120 as a further tribute to this historic aircraft. The strap is made from the same material that was used to make parachutes for Spitfire Pilots and the crowns are embossed with the same pattern as Spitfire tires. It is this attention to detail that sets this watch apart from other luxury time pieces and it is sure to capture the interested of aviation enthusiasts and watch collectors around the world. However, there are only 120 in existence, so these watches are likely to be highly sought after.
It’s little wonder that Bremont have produced a watch with such strong ties to the world of aviation as the Brothers who founded the brand, Nick and Giles English, are both keen aviators themselves.
