Recently, we were absolutely delighted to be able to bring you a second hand limited edition Bremont Mustang P-51 watch, and any true horological connoisseur would be well aware of just how exclusive this opportunity actually was. With that in mind, the following development is even more extraordinary, as we are now pleased to reveal that we have acquired a Bremont Norton timepiece within our second hand collection too. Like the P-51 we have previously featured, the Norton chronometer was discontinued some years ago, and was actually even more exclusive than the P-51, only being produced in a batch of 200 models. To obtain one of these watches was an incredibly lucrative opportunity; to gain access to two is almost unprecedented.
Specifically, the Norton timepiece was released in conjunction with the iconic motorcycle brand of the same name. Bremont is, of course, justly famed for its association with the aeronautics industry, but they actually take a profound interest in all premium feats of engineering; especially those that originate in Britain. Previously based in America, Norton was brought back to the UK following repatriation in 2009, and the Festival of Speed in that same year saw the triumphant return of this prodigal son. Norton was actively seeking for a horological brand to commemorate this occasion, and few manufacturers would have proved better suited to such an exploit than Bremont. Norton is renowned for their unmatched dominance at the Isle of Man TT races, and also innovations such as their iconic ‘Featherbed’ framework, and as such Bremont received their approach with open arms.
Our second hand limited edition Bremont Norton watch is undoubtedly a timepiece of considerable acclaim then, and each and every chronometer of this making was hand assembled in Switzerland; with a selection of especially important components being honed on UK soil as well. Whilst it does feature many ingenious developments like a Bremont Trip-Tick® 43 mm case, the Norton is clearly inspired by vintage themes in terms of aesthetics, with a ground black Arabic dial augmented by gold numerals that echo the stitching on the black leather strap. Despite this traditional appearance, Bremont has still utilised convenient SuperLumiNova® upon select details, and twin chronographic counters are also present to offer additional functions. Both seconds and 30 minute intervals can be observed on these sub-dials, and the accuracy of all timekeeping is assured thanks to the chronometer certified movement.
The movement in question is a Calibre 13 ¼” BE-50AE automatic device which utilises 28 jewels and a Glucydur balance; specifically to resist deformation and damage. A power reserve of 42 hours is also implemented as standard, as is a robust water resistance of 100 metres, so any fears that the vintage nature of this timepiece might impede practicality should be adequately assuaged. Even the strap is similarly engineered to perfection, with Kevlar and stainless steel combining with a solid deployment buckle to facilitate an exceptional fit. However, even the most functional of aspects have also been treated to the sophisticated style that is so typical of Bremont, and to this end the rotor, movement, caseback and security clasp have been engraved and decorated with extreme precision.
As with the P-51, our Bremont Norton chronometer is in exemplary condition, and it retails at £4,375 within our stock. As we possess the status of being an official Bremont stockist, you can always be confident in the legitimacy of all of our second hand watches, and this particular Norton comes to you with full verificati
on. This limited edition also benefits from a 1 year warranty, so even this consideration has not been overlooked. Numbered 118 out of the 200 Bremont Norton watches in worldwide circulation, this is another excessively rare opportunity that any genuine watch collector simply cannot afford to pass up on.
If you would like to register your interest in this second hand limited edition Bremont Norton watch then it is vital that you do so at your earliest convenience. Despite the coincidence that has led us to gain access to both the P-51 and the Norton in such a short timeframe, there is no certainty that we’ll ever have either of these timepieces in our collection ever again.
